I want to see this happen in the NFL so bad. I love seeing plays like this.

And to think the coach was pissed after it. He said that pitching it was one of the dumbest things that could've been done, and it happened twice.

Pitching the ball like that certainly wasn't that great of idea, fumbles normally happen when you try stuff like that, and fumbles lead to turnovers. In this case, they were pretty simple and short pitches that worked. That's not something that should be attempted ever unless you're really desperate late in the game, as trick plays like it can be major confidence boosters. You don't see it happen in the NFL ever as no one has ever been dumb enough to attempt it. The Music City Miracle is the thing closest to it I can think of.

The thing is, this wasn't a desperate situation. The final score ended up being 48-27 and that was the last score of the game. So Lone Peak (White) was already up by 14 when that happened.

Yes, I'm saying that's what should be done only in desperate situations. This isn't as serious as the NFL, and honestly, the coaches are geniuses, I'm sure any of us could be better coaches. I suppose it could also be attempted when you're by at least four touchdowns late in the game, it's not a good idea though. 😛

Lone Peak actually has some really good coaches. The was coach has been named the top high school head coach in the state 3 out of the last 4 years.

The sophomore teams coaches aren't very good though. They're cleaning house after this year. They've offered me a position on the sophomore coaching staff already.

The coach is an idiot that was pretty damn nice if you ask me. It's also very desperate but you gotta do what you gotta do to win games. Nice post and good play!

Cody, it's the coaches job to get pi**ed off. He may have had a legitimate reason to get mad though. You mention that it was the last score of the game but how much game time was left? If that team had fumbled and the other team had scored, it might have turned it into a 7 point game with whatever time was left. I'm just speculating here as I don't know how much time was left in the game.

Also, keep your eye on the NFL because this kind of play happen's a number of time's during the course of a season, not always ending in a TD but sometimes, especially in the playoffs. 🙂

The coach is definitely not an idiot. He's a helluva coach and has a lot of football smarts.

Also, keep your eye on the NFL because this kind of play happen's a number of time's during the course of a season, not always ending in a TD but sometimes, especially in the playoffs. 🙂

I think Ed Reed pitches more than all of the other players in the NFL combined. 😛 lol
