I got to thinking this morning, what will the internet be like in the next 10, 20, and 30 years? Im not talking programming, or coding, im talking the ages of its users and how theyll interact on forums such as this. For example, its uncommon to find someone over the age of 35 on a forum full of 14 year old kids these days, theres few of them. Im 16 now, which means in 10 years ill be 26, and I was wondering if id still be on forums in general at that point, or if it would be weird talking to the next gen of "fourmers".

Of course the best thing would just be stop everyone from ageing, but until they perfect that...were going to get older, and this will happen at some point. Whats your take on all this?

My theory of Web 3.0

The web will out grow hypertext and will adapt a fexable new of Etext. This will help priacy, copyright and organisation.

I think a lot of us will still be on the internet etc in 10 years time. As more and more people use computers now, we have got to a stage now where most people around 13+ know the basics of a computer etc.

You do have a lot of older people on the internet but not as much as young people, if you go back 15 years the computers were totally different.

Hope that makes sense. ~lol~

I will have a PHD in Computer Science and I will claim ownership of the information super highway.

i'm 21. i think in 10 years i'll still be chatting online, as will the people my age that i talk to. you can find a community for basically every age group now, so in 10 years i imagine it will only improve.

Thats true I suppose. Ive seen "adult" chat sites, although most of the time...well...hopefully things will change for the better, maybe our gen will be able to get wives -razz-

I kinda thought that the internet would be much the same it is now, and FP would still be around with us all still here. Its going to be sad however we end up spiltting up, or even if I just get the boot, itll be sad.

you've been here for a while i take it?

haha there is a community for everything though. i've even seen some for married people that want to cheat. it's insane! i guess anonymity brings out the worst in people.

Not too long actually, but were all like a big family here anyway lol.

Quote from 4chan's rules of The Internet:
3. We are Anonymous.
4. Anonymous is legion.
5. Anonymous does not forgive, Anonymous does not forget.
6. Anonymous can be horrible, senseless, uncaring monster.
7. Anonymous is still able to deliver.

It can bring out the worst, but I think it really just allows freedom. Then again, were all tied to a IP address somewhere, so we really arnt truely "anonymous" but its nice to think so -razz-

By 10 years i hope so..... i wont be into forum i think lol.... dunno even if i will be on the net...

I will still be on the net but if FP is still open I doubt I will still be staff -lol- you never know though.

Yes you will. -razz-

You will type in the domain and then notice how much you miss FP, then you will ask to rejoin. -lol-

Anyway, I will still be on the internet but I can't say if I know what I would be doing.

hmm in 10years im hoping to have a decent job and maybe making money on the side via the internet maybe doing some sort of graphics work im getting back into the GFX scene at the moment gradually editing phpbb3 themes and getting knowledge on how it works, its always interested me -happy-

I think we will all be on the Internet in 10 years time. It may be uncommon for 35+ old people to post on forums now but in the future it will be the norm...because of us.

Thats kinda what I was hoping for. I have no thoughts of leaving the internet, or forums anytime soon. Im still young though, so that could change as I get older, who knows.

Or it could be replaced by something new. And we'd have IE11 vs Firefox 5 lol.

I think you mean Opera would be the only browser being used -😉-

The internet could be different in many ways, but end the end we'll just have to wait and see.
