I read this in a news item last week that internet shops are losing their business to tablets and consoles. Most gamers are getting their own tablets (and probably laptops too) so they don't need to spend time and money in internet shops. Admittedly, internet shops now thrive on gamers alone and a small part of revenue comes from photocopying and printing services. In our village, there used to 5 internet shops but now there are only 2 left. If this is the trend then it's probably goodbye to internet shops.
Where I live the internet cafe isn't really a thing. Sure we have some coffee shops that have free wifi... but truth be told most public buildings here now have free wifi anyway. My hometown has an entire wifi network covering it. Most people have their own dedicated internet service also so they really don't need to go to a place specifically to use the internet. (It's also likely reaching the point where more people have internet connections than cable or satellite...)
The internet shops have already lost their business years ago as every single house has a computer along with iOS and Android phones. Hence people no longer need to go to shops surfing the internet.
