I think people assume thatsince no one is paying attention that idiots can act like a 4 year old on crack. It has never been "normal" to send explicit crap to random people, If people act in society, like they do online, they would get their ass kicked... Whatever happened to social skills, business ethics, and common sense?!
I don't agree with porn anyway, let alone giving it to children. But as for other non-pornographic stuff on the net, I have no qualms with s'long as there are warnings beforehand and such.
It all depends on what you take to be "adult" content. Previews for M rated video games could be adult content. Half of the stuff on YouTube and Myspace could be adult content.
I'm not really bothered by it at all though. I'm underage (under 16) so I just stay away from the pornography and the like. I do agree though, that the internet is for everyone by everyone.
Well you can never stop porn going on the internet.
If parents don't want there kids seeing stuff like then they should either buy some software that blocks certain websites or not let them on the internet.
Again I really don't get what your saying as before you said you should let them do what they like when there 13 and now you are saying something about banning them from internet use.
i mean if u have a kid 13 years old and u r having tea he comes and says dad wasup u say nm and he say off i go u say where he says 2 use the computer what will u say???
Are you saying that children over the age of 13 don't need parental guidance anymore? If so, I'm thinking you have never been the parent of a 13 year old......
I have a 13 year old that doesn't look at porn on the computer. i don't have the parental controls up, but I have checked the cache, and history. So, he's not. If he were, then we'd have to revisit the parental control issue.
I have a nephew that was into porn on the computer from the time he was 12 or so. Didn't seem to matter. He would do everything he could to get around all the controls.
So, it is like everything else with raising children--depends on the child.
I agree when you say that the internet is for everyone. Just when it comes to porn and such things, there should be a warning before entering the site. If the parents really have a problem with it then they should use the parental controls, but mostly it is how the child is raised, and in most cases it also has a lot to do with who his friends are also.
I've seen public Internet hotspots block "text based chat", it's like
alot of people try to thik they have the right to decide for everyone
else... You shouldn't need to be 12-13 to be on youtube or forums,
you should be brought up as a kid learning how to act..
Its like all the 14-16 year olds making a; the sexual comments...
Do they not know that is not a "normal" social interaction?!
It seems like so many people want to be fake... It should be like
5-10 years ago, when people would do forums, guestbooks, fan
sites, etc...
It comes down to being normal and mature, instead of thinking it
is cool to get high, or think just random people are gonna call ya
outta the blue..
I don't understand porn anyway, why sit there and have weird fantasys about girls in the porn movies or pictures when you can go out and get a real girl. I just never understood that.
