Why not? Link building if nothing else. As long as no one is actively recruiting members from the other forum it's fine with me.

Well link building is fine but I wouldn't suggest affiliating with other gaming forums. I mean this is especially worse if your forum's just starting out. If a visitor comes onto your site and considers joining it but sees a banner to another gaming forum with more activity, which one do you think he would choose?
