just wanted to share a great interview done with Kino some weeks ago but now yesterday published!
An interview with a every day teenager who like many teens has a passion for music! He is the founder of Music Junkies and ex. owner of that site now. Not only that but he is currently community team leader on FP.
1) How did you start getting involved with forums ? Can you still remember how you spent your time on the net ? (Before you started with your own website or being on forums.)
Answer: Well back like 5 years ago or so, one of my friend’s told me about this forum named “AnimeLeague.” As soon as I joined that forum, I got into foruming. Before that I was really addicted to RuneScape and played that on the computer along with games off of CartoonNetwork and MiniClip.
2) Can you tell us the meaning of your name “Kino” and why did you took it ?
Answer: Well this is an embarrassing one. In 5th grade Star Wars Episode III came out and I wanted a Jedi name. So I randomly came up with Kino, and it’s stuck since then.
3) If your in a bad or sad mood, do you listen to much to cheer your self up ? What song/clip makes you always happy ?
Answer: I always listen to music no matter what mood I’m in. If I’m in a sad mood, I normally listen to soppy 80′s love songs like: Faithfully by Journey or Keep On Lovin’ You by REO Speedwagon.
4) Best decade, when the best music songs where made according to your taste ?
Answer: 70′s. Definitely the best decade of music ever.
5) Do you watch any song contests on TV during the year ? (Like the Eurovision song content in Europe.)
Answer: American Idol and America’s Got Talent.
6) Favorite platform to play games on ? And do you listen to the sound of the game or do you just listen to music during gaming ?
Answer: I love my Xbox 360. It depends on what game I’m playing to which I either play music during it, or listen to the game. When I play FIFA I normally have music playing.
7) If you listen to music at any time, witch tool do you use to hear it. (youtube, Ipad, Iphone, mp3, …)
Answer: iTunes and my iPod!
8) Are forums for you a positive or negative experience ? And can you explain what a forum is, to those who never heard of it before ?
Answer: I think they’re a positive experience. I mean they can be negative, but I’ve met a lot of cool friends that I’m glad I’ve met.
9) You currently founder and admin of Music Junkies . Can you tell us what made you start that website ?
Answer: My love for music made me start this site. I’ve always been into music and I play guitar. So I wanted to create a forum based on something I have a huge passion for.
10) Have you had moments of giving up on the site project ? When was the site regarding (activity, expanding, improving) the best, which month ?
Answer: Oh many times. I’ve given up on a number of my other sites I’ve owned in the past. Activity wise and all that, I really don’t do much or pay attention to much.
11) List 3 things you like you did so far with the site, and list 3 things you want to do with music junkies in the future ?
Answer: 3 things I’ve done so far: incorporated a song of the month competition, made a section for artist/song battles, and VIP section. Can’t really think of anything else I’d like to add.
12) You are currently lead community team member. Is it a great job occupation working on FP as staff ?
Answer: I couldn’t ask for anything better, or a better forum to work for. I’ve been here for a long time, and every day I just love coming on and posting and talking with new members. It’s a job I’ll always love having.
13) What takes most of your time, working on your site or working as staff on FP ?
Answer: Working on FP easily.
14) Who was before you the lead moderator on FP, and did he/she recommend you to replace him/her ? Or did you volunteer your self ?
Answer: My old team leader was Nathan. I believe the admins chose me after he had left.
15) What do you seek in a person to be part of the community team on FP ?
Answer: It all depends. An application means a lot to me. We’ll just leave it at that.
16) Does it take a lot of professionalism and responsibility of a person for the job you do on FP ?
Answer: We try to hire only the best and most professional people for staff positions. The more mature you are, the most likely to get the job.
17) What can you give of advice to newbie’s into forum/website management ?
Answer: Never give up if it’s something you solemnly love.
18) Have this experiences of running a site and working as staff on 1 or more of them, influenced your character over time ?
Answer: Not really. I’m still the same person I was 3 years ago.
