Wow, I have just seen this post (was looking through my post archives). I know the response is late, but it will still be informative for future clients 🙂

We have been "officially" in the hosting business for a year and one month, however beforehand I had offered private hosting for people on forums for at least a year. So I have been in hosting for a little over two years.

We do provide automated nightly backups in a remote location. These backups are made though so that it is generally tough to try to single out files or databases in the event of an accidental delete, so its a general policy of mine to only offer these backups in the event of a server wide issue. However, recently I have had no problem restoring files and databases that some of my clients had accidentally deleted - it just takes me a little time to look through and find it.

Our servers are located in a state-of-the-art, high security private datacenter in Washington, D.C. This facility features multi-phase power redundancy, industrial-quality cooling, fire suppression, constant temperature and climate control, and power generation systems. Lots of staff, including technicians and armed guards, are on duty 24/7 in the event of unexpected issues.
