Deleting a post in the forum is most often due to spam. How about keeping the spam and other unwanted posts in a board? That can be used for future references. Besides, it is a content too. I know of a forum who has a board that can only be seen by the Admin and staff. That’s where they move the unwanted posts. In case of a dispute, they have something to check. Are you doing this or you just delete unwanted posts?

I just remove them right away no questions ask. Unless like one time one of my mods did not like something and moved it to the staff board for me to read and check out before I removed it myself

I usually keep a section locked and store threads that have died in there. Serves as a "read only" section I guess. Spam and useless threads I just delete. No need for those and they have no benefit.
