Sorry if this is the wrong section but what happened to them? I went to go and browse an old forum that's on Invision Free and the entire thing is basically porn now.

They became Zetaboards and then were sold to Tapatalk, so...they're essentially gone now.

Of course 🙂. You can try Tapatalk, see if the old communities were ported over that way, a lot were, but there's no guarantees, sadly.

I think the closest thing you get to the old ipbfree is Forumotions Invision board setup.

It's such a shame as Invisionfree and Zetaboards were pretty great for free forum hosting. I used it from 2005 up until the end of last year as they transferred over to Tapatalk which is the worst forum software going, absolutely terrible.
I miss Zetaboards, Invisionfree was cool too but I wasn't online much when Zetaboards didn't exist and InvisionFree was one of the few forum hosts. I remember making a Sonic theme for InvisionFree. I actually found the images I used to make the theme recently, so maybe I can get the theme back up on Jcink? It wasn't anything too impressive though to be honest with you. 😛
