The first impressions I get from your site is very good; Yourself as an Administrator have a good level of professionalism and content spreading in and around the forum which has gotten posting off to a good start. The logo I feel complements the name and current (Albeit default) theme well and is of a high quality.
When it comes to forum sections, I particularly like your emphasis on discussion areas placing them at the top of the forum list with site guidelines, rules and other miscellaneous site forums situated at the bottom of the index; This draws users straight into discussion which is something not many forums do and is something I liked about your forum 🙂 When it comes to sections, you've kept it simple which I agree can be better as a user as you can quickly jump into talks without caring too much for category however I feel that when you have such an emphasis on such a few forums, you really need to ensure that things are done "properly" A use of icons on the forums as well as expanding a bit on forum descriptions would've enhanced the quality of these areas and made them stand out a bit more on the index. Also, while I like your attempt to tag posts with [brackets], they don't totally stand out and make it easier to search for certain things, in fact it's somewhat counterintuitive trying to differentiate title from tag so I feel making them colour do changing the background fill would be far more effective.
I feel that the area which let's your forum down the most at the moment is its lack of theme, using default themes is always undesirable, especially so when they're not edited or changed at all. I feel that even a basic free theme would be far more complementing to your forum and it's niche than the default you currently have.
I feel that while your content and professionalism is a strong point , more focus is necessary on both your styling and detailing in areas to really make your forum stand out from other general discussion forums.
I wish you good luck with your forum 🙂
