iOS4 Update Available!

So the official Apple download for the new iOS4 software is out! It's a free update of the software and super easy to do. I just did it with my 3rd generation iPod Touch. It includes over 100 new features.

I'm not going to update yet. I'm still on 3.1.2 on my iPhone. Wait till the iOS4 becomes stable just for a few weeks to make sure.

It is stable, otherwise it wouldn't be released. It's been through many months of beta testing with developers etc... 😛

You never know what will happen in the future. I remember when they released 3.1.3 and people quickly updated to it.

Then, they got stuck and couldn't unlock or jailbreak their phones.

I'm fine with 3.1.2. I usually compare 3.1.3 to the Windows Vista Operating System, since it didn't last long, and many people didn't prefer to have it lol.

Never mind the fact that unlocking/jailbraking your phone voids your warantee - I don't think Apple cared that you couldn't JB it.

I got it right away. I have a Second Gen touch that doesn't support mulitasking or home screen wallpapers, but that' alright, I suppose.

I really like Folders, Playlists, allowing my iPod to stay on Wi-Fi when asleep, and just the overall look of iOS 4.

Sorry if this is off topic, but do you think it's worth getting an iPod Touch right now as I heard the 4th gen iPod Touch is coming out around December 2010(not sure if this is true or not) or would it be better to save up and go for the iPhone 4.

Get an iPhone if you can - it has the ability to text etc... 🙂

Your only option if you want those is to jailbreak your device.

I have the iPhone 4 so automatically have iOS4 :lol:
