IPB Hosted Package

Was thinking that. But are you sure that would do? I can always upgrade but eh. I would rather have an understanding of how much stuff I would need before i purchase a plan tomorrow. 😛

40 online users seems like it would do in maybe a month depending on how well the site goes.

It depends, really. How much money to do you have to spend on it? How dedicated can you be to it? How fast can you make it grow?

I believe the Standard 25 would be great to start out with, unless you have a way where you are going to start getting a bunch of people quite fast.

I believe that if you think the Standard 25 wouldn't be good enough for even the first month, then I would go for self-hosting it and buying an IPB License.

I don't have that much money to buy paid software and when I do get the money I'll be buying vBulletin.

Start out with as small as you can go and just go up from there. Friend hosts a lot of boards through their server and they're very lenient i.e. unless you're consistently hitting 20+ online you'll be fine with the 10 user package, might as well save some money for the first few months before the board really picks up.

I could start with the starter plan then.

Well I guess I could do the ten member and if any problems I can always upgrade. I guess it's not that difficult as they do it quite often each day so it won't be making them go out of their way for me or anything.

Yeah I know they're really relaxed about the plans. I mean even if it's only for a few weeks before the board is all set up and what not still worth it IMO.

Okay well will purchase the basic 10 and see how it goes.

I wonder if they count guests as online users?
Because any forum can have 50 to 100 "online users" (counting guests) at any moment with all the bots and people out there.
