IPB or Xenforo

Which forum software should I purchase. Please share some in depth answer and why.

You know my answer 🙂 However that being said it's hard as they are both very good. Yet I would go with IPB and here's why:

1. The support team is amazing and fast and nice people to get alone with, they are like another family. If you site is down you can get the support right away.
2. The options that you pay for are allot more then Xenforo. Not talking about plugins talking about what you get in the root of the system. With 4.2 it has even more options the the ACP is so nice, allot has improved and I will say this that Xenforo doesn't have what IPB has
3. Plugins are something that we all use in our sites. Depends on the site you can get whatever you want regards on both software based. You need something you requests it.
4. Code and the platform it's made on. IPB is the winner regards to how it's been coded and put together.
5. I don't know regards to Xenforo, as for IPB they always working with updates with fixes and whatnot. What I Like about it that they always getting information on what has been attacked or whatnot and they release an Security patch right away and force people to update.

So, I go and play with the demo of IPB 🙂 also 4.2 is not fully out.. Yet you can download an test version

@Empire thanks for you in depth review on IPB I will most likely go with IPB with some of the things you said.

Edited: If anyone knows anything with Xenforo I would still like to know your point of views on it.

vBulletin is also a good choice, it provides very easy to use plugin installers and also provides high protection to safeguard your sites. Try vbulletin as well.

IPB is better as it is the affordable and powerful one too.

IPB is better and I agree however I wouldn't say it's affordable

I would choose IPB over Xenforo although that forum software is good too. IPB also gives you way better spam protection than any other forum software so that's another thing to keep in mind when purchasing forum software.

IPB connect with StopSpamForum database, so that if you have your nick/email listed there, you can not register to any IPB forum anymore with that nick/email.
