I am looking at getting an iPod Touch as I am always either using my phone or 2DS for online stuff. Also the phone I have isn't compatible with games from Smule and the like. I also want to do my family a favor by keeping phone bill costs down. So, I have some questions:

1. When billing for Internet will this go on our phone or cable bill?

2. Can you use Google Play and download apps like the one I mentioned above?

3. Are these compatible with Windows Vista? Or are there older versions compatible at least?

4. What about staying in a hotel/motel? Would you have to ask the front desk for their Wi Fi password, or is it like your phone and you can still go on without connecting to Wi Fi?

5. Can I drag and drop mp3 files from my computer, or do I have to use iTunes? If I can drag and drop that will be a start.

Sorry about all the questions, but I've never had a gadget with so many features before.

This would most lilkely go on your cable bill as you would need an active Internet subscrption since the iPod Touch can't do celluar, only wireless.

Since you would be using an iPod, it'd be the App Store. It's the Play Store for iOS.

The newer version of iTunes will only work with Windows 7 and higher. However, you could probably find a lesser version number that will run on Vista. Why not just upgrade?

Nope, you would need a connection to wireless as again, the iPod cannot use a celluar connection like your phone for data.

iTunes will be your friend in this case.

SThanks we asked a rl friend about these when we went out for lunch just now and he helped us out quite a bit. As for the upgrade, it's not my personal computer it's a family one, so any updates are beyond my control as it's not my computer. Plus we are a family that doesn't like to upgrade our gadgets unless absolutely necessary. I'm going to see if I can find a slightly older iPod touch as Windows Media Player is what I prefer to use when it comes to synching mp3 files and the like. Call me old fashioned but when it comes to being a novice to these things, the simpler the better.

So on the wi fi for hotels and whatever, I would have to ask the receptionist for their password much like if I were to bring my laptop for example? Sorry guys, the only other gadgets I have features like this on is my Nintendo 2DS we didn't have this fancy crap when I was a kid so I'm New to all of this

Correct, although it depends on the individual hotel as I have been to many where they include the Wifi password on a board/sign in the lobby/reception area or do not have a password at all and you are able to automatically connect. Hotel guest relations staff are good to ask if you do have questions relating to their Wifi.

Well, we have at least one hotel we patronize on a regular basis, and when I still had a laptop I had to go to the reception desk and ask for their wi-fi password.

I got an iPad last weekend and I love it.. I no longer have a cell phone as I never used it much. The iPad suits my needs perfectly which is managing my forum, visiting other forums ND especially gaming. I play Magic Piano by Smule, Britney Spears American Dream and recently started a game called Toy Blast.

Glad that you made the right option to yourself and happy 🙂

Just don't like seeing people buying something that they aren't happy with

Thamks mate. I love the because it's like a laptop. I mean it's Wi-Fi so it's the Internet we have in the apartment, when we go to a hotel room something, all I have to do is request a password at the front desk.
