Is $1 donations too cheap for Patreon?

If you had a Patreon page, that might seem too cheap, but with followings of around 100,000 on social media, 10 percent would be $10,000/mo in profit and - even 3 percent is $3,000/mo. Well, way lower Patreon prices might - also mean higher percentages signing up, of course.

Note: Typical percentages of donations I think would be between 1 and 3 percent - assuming the situation is like with most pages.

Even if it was $0.50 it's still better then nothing and if you had like 10K followers and add that up to a month is still good. It's more to how high is too much?

Well, it's always good to know the "going rate". However, like Henry Ford - making things affordable can be a good long-term strategy.

To be honest, anything below 5$ is usually food for payment processors. The creator or the person on receiving end don't get much of it.

But Patreon has tiers. You can start with $1/month to give them a taste of your content then promote the higher options so they can choose to upgrade or not. It can be $3/month, then a higher one at $10/month and it goes on. Of course, you'll have to offer better content for higher tiers.

So even if someone doesn't have a lot of coffee money, they can still get the $1/month plan. And it adds up.

Yes sure there are tiers but think about it from reception end. You think 1$ payout like those 10 people subscribing giving you 10$ and the end of month would make much difference with fees cut?

Anything with $1 donations, assuming it's the U.S., U.K. etc.. - is going to require huge numbers to be anything - but it's obtainable.
