Do you think An tablet is A computer like windows?
Have your say.
Windows also announced there windows tablets.

Ive been dying to try one of those and same with my android it does everything a laptop can do.

PC stands for Personal Computet a tablet does hold ypur Personal files.

Absolutely not. They lack computing power, the screens are too small to be productive (as are the optional keyboards), and a mouse is easier to use for just about all productivity applications.
They were meant for, and are only good for checking your e-mail, facebook, and playing Angry Birds.

The screen is fine, as is the keyboard. My tablet is roughly the same size as a netbook pc, it has USB ports, a proper keyboard, you can attach a mouse. It runs all the normal Microsoft software such as office. The only thing that isn't as big is memory and it has a place to add a micro sd card. So I would call it a pc.

Yes, I consider a Tablet a PC, and good enough for many people who don't play full fledge PC games like Star Craft 2, Diablo 3, etc, do a lot of video editing, and CPU and RAM intensive tasks.

There are keyboards for tablets as well for typing.

I think some tablets with full size usb ports can plug in a desktop usb keyboard for faster typing.

There are also 12 inch or bigger tablets for people who need a bigger screen because of poor eye sight.

If you just write blog posts, forum posts, video chat, take pictures to post online, draw with a stylus or mouse then a Tablet connected to a regular keyboard is good enough, and is less likely to overheat then a netbook which sometimes run very hot when playing HD YouTube videos with Adobe flash player while tablets use HTML5 video and mobile optimize video from YouTube which does not use as much RAM and CPU as Adobe Flash Player.

I voted that it is a PC. If it runs an OS and is capable of multitasking, then in my mind that satisfies that requirement.

We even known that it can not run full pledged games it can still run other applications. Ive even found An android app which lets people develop sites/forums on their tablets.
I say it is a pc with Mobile features.

Android is also based on Linux(PC OS)

I have a full IDE on my tablet and Microsoft office, i have no need to play games on it so it works fine for me. Te only thing I can't do on it is photoshop, but I have that on my stationary computer anyway

Another thing you carnt do on an tablet, Reinstall the OS? Atleast I know of.

A tablet is a computer but not a pc (personal computer) like the ones we are used to.

The term computer is actually pretty general, as our smartphones and laptops and all mobile devices are all really computers.
The PC however is a more specific subset of computers.

So can you install windows 7 if you wanted to?
And i can but only via A windows machine with the data cable.

Does the windows tab have usb ports?

A few years a go I saw on TV that there were Windows XP Tablets/laptop which uses a pen for people to write on the screen, and point at stuff.

There was also a keyboard which can fold away, and if you want to, you can just use the pen and touchscreen, and not use the keyboard.

I read a few things on what 'PC' Stands for all of these match what A Tablet is.

Modern personal computers often have connections to the [[Internet]], allowing access to the [[World Wide Web]] and a wide range of other resources. Personal computers may be connected to a [[local area network]] (LAN), either by a cable or a wireless connection. A personal computer may be a [[desktop computer]] or a [[laptop]], [[tablet computer|tablet]], or a [[handheld PC]].

Software applications for most personal computers include, but are not limited to, [[word processing]], [[spreadsheets]], [[databases]], [[Web browser]]s and [[e-mail]] clients, [[digital media]] playback, [[Personal computer game|games]], and myriad personal productivity and special-purpose software applications.

This says a tablet is a type of PC?

A tablet is a computer which is mainly used for personal reasons, such as a desktop and laptop are both "personal computers" which makes a tablet, in a sense, a personal computer as well. 🙂

Only problem with tablets is thst it is to moblized with mobile systems.
