With the high spread of malwares and virus, and it's reflex exuberance with dodging and hiding away from anti-virus software. I don't really think my anti-virus is useful to me, because i have been infected with some viruses passing through the nose of my Anti-virus software.
I think they are not really good with stopping high end viruses.

What anti virus do you use? Free anti viruses are terrible nowadays, and even some paid ones are not good. The top tier anti-viruses are well worth their salt.

I use avast antivirus, but i don't think it's worth it, it's really good for nothing, i have uninstalled it already.

In our office, it is a mortal sin for a computer to run without anti virus. You can get suspended if your official computer has no installed anti virus. To me, that is an indication that viruses are everywhere and an attack can be fatal so it is imperative to have it in computers. The anti virus in our home computer is Avast but our laptop has none yet as of now although it is not used for internet yet because there are needed software to be installed like the MS Office.

Windows Defender actually quite good if you don't want to install another software.

If you often visit questionable websites then antivirus is a must.

Basically my anti virus helps me to fight against malware and Trojans. I keep my license updated to get the full services from them.

I've been using AVG antivirus nearly 7 years and didn't face any problem with virus or mailware.

Yes off course. No doubt. These days the endpoint protection not only blocks malware but also blocks hack attempts, blocks visiting dangerous websites, providing backup; etc.

Avast recently got hacked by an insider. You could try Sophos which will detect some things but just don't visit malicious websites and you won't have a problem. I mainly use Sophos as a filter for spam/phishing rather than just anti virus.

I recently downloaded a virus and malware detector and found nothing on my computer lol idk

Antivirus software sometimes does not work properly with some new viruses, not in the database. Some viruses can exploit security vulnerabilities on older versions of antivirus software to bypass them. So, you should update your antivirus software every day, it is best to keep it updated automatically. Or you can think of trying the free trial for some time to evaluate the performance before buying the license to receive more advanced features.

If you go into risky websites, then you need an anti-virus and if your computer processes a lot of info, then it needs a system utility cleaner - so to be on the safe side, get both.

P*rn sites usually contain malicious scripts that harm your computer. Stay away from them and you're almost safe 😀

Well, they can be useful but even the toughest anti-virus can't stop everything, so it's important you keep it updated.

I personally use a lightweight antivirus because Norton made my pc really slow.

Yes if they are having recently updated files. However, Windows antivirus are more powerful than smartphone ones.
