Yes, I think Facebook, and Google Pus are making personal blogs less popular since buying domain and web hosting for a personal blog can be costly, and in my experience it is really hard to earn the money back through advertising, and selling stuff on a personal blog compared to a computer blog, and electronics blog since no one or very few people are searching for me online to see what I'm up to by reading my personal blog.
I think most people rather use Facebook, or Google Plus to share their personal and social life with people rather then buying a domain, web hosting, installing WordPress, and start blogging about themselves since it can be time consuming, and it can be somewhat hard to get their money back by blogging about your daily life since the keywords in your posts might not be worth as much as other keywords like ipad, windows, electronics, money advice, etc.
