I think Google Plus can help blogs get more readers, and subscribers now, but I think if Google Plus becomes very popular like Facebook it might take more users away from blogs and forums, and they mostly hang out on Google Plus instead, and spend less time on forums and blogs if more G+ members post full articles, videos, pictures, and content to their Google Plus profile instead of forums and blogs.

I find Google+ less confusing then the new Facebook Timeline feature which I'm not very used to.

I like G+ user Post feed feature on profiles since it reminds me of the Twitter feed, but without the 140 character limitations, and you get to embed links, video and pictures onto each posts not just links to external sites like Twitter.

I read online ( http://mashable.com/2012/02/21/google-plus-1-seo/ )the +1 social bookmarking feature for Google Plus can negatively affect sites with few +1 compared to giant sites like YouTube, or blogs like TechCrunch which get tons of +1 bookmarks a day on Google plus since sites with more +1 bookmarks can get better rankings then sites with none or very few +1 like less active forums and blogs.

Despite all the new social networking sites and even future ones I think forums are here to stay. I am one who prefers forums over a social network. For one all the information is much more organized and easier to find. Social Networks are moer person-oriented and forums are more information oriented.

The +1 button does add a socially engineered feature to websites. Unfortunately though even that is not always accurate as you can buy and trade +1 clicks too. Heck, the site I run you can buy or earn them. Easy as cake.

I agree with FarSide... no matter what social network rules, I think forums will always be around because they're a completely different environment.

Google Plus won't hurt as much as Facebook, because it's newer and smaller.

Can Google Search change their search results to rank Google Plus pages/profiles higher stealing your first page ranking spot for certain keywords in the natural search results by pushing up Google Plus, YouTube, and Google owned pages?

I'm starting to see some G+ profiles and pages have pretty good rankings on Google search.

This might hurt forums and blogs which gets most of its traffic from Google Search if G+ pages, and profiles rank easily on the first page just for being part of Google, and having some content/post, and a lot of followers and +1 bookmarks.

The government said that Google would be shut down if they did that and sent inspectors in. In addition, there was an anti-monopoly trial.

But being owned by Google, yes, G+ has terrific PR.
