Forums seem to be easier since all I do is post a question, and in a few hours or minutes I get multiple answers for a question if the forum is very active.

I can also just post a picture, or embed a video to ask people on forums what is the name of the person in the video, and photo which is not possible with most search engines.

I guest, social sites like Twitter, Facebook, and Yahoo Answers are good for asking for answers for questions I have.

I sometimes find looking for answers for new events like "Why are people occupying wall street in New York?" can be kind of hard to find answers for in Search engines, but on social sites I can ask a New York Citizen or Company why people are protesting in NY.

Social sites are almost or even faster then reporting news on TV since Digg, Stumbleupon, Reddit, etc usually have answers to current events by reading popular articles on the front page.

It's easier to search on forums, because like you said, it is faster. Sometimes, if you search something on a search engine you never get your answer.

Indeed, plus, I notice many of the results on search are just refferal websites which want you to buy hosting from a specific webhost, so they get some money for refferals.

The cool thing about forums is you can get decent web hosting and other offers if you are looking for web hosting and web services for a forum since a few members on FP are also web host owners/resellers with cheap prices.

I know of a forum owner who post a topic in FP forum hosting section for a faster web host because he was not happy with GoDaddy. He found an offer from a fellow FP member, and now his website is a lot faster and more reliable then before when he hosted his site with his previous webhosts. I think he is also now paying 2-4 dollars a month for hosting, so he is also saving more money then before.
