With a small budget of $200, would it be possible to build a good desktop PC which can do basic tasks like Word Proccessing, web browsing, watching video, and playing less graphically intensive games Minecraft, Runescape, Farmville, Candy Crush Saga, Facebook games, Flash Games and older games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft, and the original Counter Strike?

Most likely, yes. There was another post that was building a $300 gaming PC, and it played modern games on Medium and High settings, so building a computer that cheap shouldn't be a problem. You could actually modify that same $300 build by taking out some more expensive parts and replacing them to make the build cheaper.

The build is here: http://vgnewz.com/300-gaming-pc-build/

I would suggest taking out the Graphics Card, and just putting in something basic like an Intel Integrated Graphics Chipset, which should be cheaper.
You could also put in a 500GB Hard Drive instead of a 1TB one, which should be cheaper.

Cool, thanks for the help.

I guest buying a cheaper PC case with a power supply, and less popular brands like ASRock motherboard, AMD CPU, using smaller sized hard drives, and less memory could be used to reduce the price of a PC.

Good tips. Using an Intel chip with integrated graphics instead of having a CPU-GPU combo, getting a smaller hard drive, and possibly dropping down to 2GB of RAM would all be options.

Thanks for the tips. I put together a list of computer parts for building a $198.60 MiniITX mini desktop computer which is probably good enough for most basic computer tasks live watching video, listening to music, web browsing, office work, and playing older games like Warcraft 3, Starcraft, and older Counter Strike games.
