I'm really getting desperate with my forum. I messed up once and now I have to re-make everything...So it means that link is dead in my sig.
So my question before i will start looking someone to help me:

Is it possible to find anyone trustful around here? Your experience on that?

I really can't handle it on my own anymore 🙁

:great:

Yeah sure, I have hired alot and fired alot and only one of them did something wrong like adding a member to a package group without telling me or anyone else. for the rest no mod I hired deleted stuff or anything strange of any other type of staff member.

IN the admin zone forums you can hire people to. Take on people who got some rep and posts on FP. People who got almost nothing look a bit more suspicious lol.

All the staff on my forum are great staff and are very trustworthy. It is possible but I think it's better to only hire those that have a good name on places like here. Naming and shaming shouldn't be done but you should warn others before they hire this 'rouge' staff member.

I personally found there are much more experienced and worthwhile staff members at adminaddict.net

I'm not advertising, that's just where I recruit mainly 🙂

Zaborg, I really wouldn't recommend hiring strangers at all. I have always hired people with whom I have already have a decent relationship. You need to make sure the person is serious about the job, and the only way to be sure of that is to talk to him/her enough beforehand.

Well what you have to do is show other that you yourself are trustworthy. Maybe that'll throw in a few things your way.

I have hired quite few people from this forum and they were very trustworthy, so just be very detailed in your search so that you get the right people.

I have learnt to trust no one on the internet. Most people i have trusted in the past, i have regretted it in the end. I am wary of everyone.

When hiring people you are always going to take a risk. Ask them to supply other forums they have worked on and speak to people the have worked with and get feedback on what the user is like. Ask around and see what other people think of a user. It will still be a risk but at least you know that you have atleast verified that they probably can be trusted although don't take unnecessary risks. Over the years i have seen countless forums ruined, taken over, deleted or closed due to people trusting people they shouldn't.

Never completely trust anyone. If you can't go round to their house and say "Boo", be very very careful what you give them and what you tell them.

Make sure you know them and that they have good rep on AT LEAST 1 forum, also ask your friends if they know anything about that user.

Fowler's post is full of validity.

I've always been a single administrator for every forum I've owned, and it has always worked out well. No problems at all.

I don't really trust anyone on the Internet anymore either. There are a precious few who I really can trust, but that's about it. I would say finding someone you can trust online is more difficult than finding someone you can trust in the real world.
