Do people and companies still use Fax machines for sending faxes over the phone line, or is it a dying technology which people don't use much or at all?

I never had a need to own a Fax machine since I have no one to fax, but I notice many big companies still use faxes to send and receive documents according to their contact information on their business cards.

The only use I see for sending fax is if there is an internet outage meaning your internet does not work, or your computer got stolen or broken but you need to send a document, picture, or text quickly to someone who also has a fax machine, so you save money by not using FedEX, UPS, etc to manually deliver your documents which can be very expensive, and more time consuming.

I use a custom mod on all of the forums I have run to print out a fax report every time someone signs up, makes a post, and logs into the website. It costs about $200 a week + $100 per funeral of the Amazon natives who fight back against me cutting down their sacred trees, even though I clearly had a fair and honest agreement between the tribe leader and me by giving him an Ipad 2 in exchange for all the sacred trees I wanted. What can I say, perfection has its price. Besides, those sacred trees make damn fine paper.

probably not useful at home. if you'll be using it on your office, it could be useful for documents and paperworks.

Buy a printer/copier/fax machine. That way if you don't use the fax part you aren't wasting money.
