I was wondering this because apparently linking to youtube videos that have copyrighted materials can get you sued. Also linking to other websites can (how pathetic is that?)

Anyway, is linking to movie trailer illegal? I mean it's a trailer so wouldn't they want it advertised everywhere??

I'm so confused with all of the copyright infringement BS

If the trailer you are linking to is the official trailer made by the people that made the film then there shouldn't be a problem. Try linking to a copy of the trailer on their site if possible though.

Yeah there is a Halloween 2 Trailer on YouTube which i've linked too - http://www.gorepit.net/ you'll see the Blog entry on there.

I mean, why would they make the trailer and then accuse of copyright. They'd want everyone to see the trailer right?

I know what you mean about the official site though. However would that be illegal linking to copyrighted material?
