Is reselling products/services profitable? What should one resell?

When you're reselling, anything that can't be downloaded or pirated. ^^
Thats a good point. For example, services can't be downloaded or pirated so reselling services can be a good idea if you find a good service to resell.

I don't prefer the reselling . It will make your mind fully blast . Its even hard to do and get sales

I know of someone that has a logo business, and charges like $90+ but gets the logos on fiverr for $5 xD

I'd say that is very profitable. However, it also depends on what you are reselling I guess.

Reselling can be profitable if you put a lot of leg work into it. Kind of hard to do passively unless you already have an established customer base

I'd rather be the source, not a middle man. I don't want to re-sell stuff, I just want to sell stuff.

Too bad I have nothing to sell. 😛

I have some games that I'm reselling on the marketplace myself. Got the full lot for $15 (that's 8 game) and selling them as an same price as steam.

Still no sale of yet.

Yes, absolutely. I personally know someone who found a niche within the tech market and is selling a service online that no one else is selling. That is his main source of income and he makes more money than I ever did in my 9 to 5. Some idiots tried to copy him and failed because he had already secured that market internationally.

If you could find an idea that is helpful to others, preferably in your own line of work since that's what you know most about, you could be successful. It would have to be something that you know would make other people's lives easier, but you might have to go out there and secure your market as well. It could mean a little bit of travelling, depending on what it is you were selling.

Fiverr is a joke either way, as are sites like 99 designs. lol. As a designer I actually hate those sites because they devalue the work that experienced, qualified designers and marketing consultants do, while at the same time, giving a business a crappy logo that is totally detached from what they need to compete in their individual market. It might LOOK nice, don't get me wrong, but it's still not going to make them noticed or appeal to their target audience. They don't take into account local competition etc, it's just, "this looks cool, here you go!"

I guess the fact that someone is making some money off their crap doesn't make me feel bad. Does make me feel bad for the customer though since they're still getting the same crap, just at a higher price. XD

Don't devalue someones work just because they sell on fiverr. There are a few people that sell on both fiverr and on envato studio. Not all prices on fiverr are $5, some designers still charge several hundred dollars for a single logo concept on fiverr. It is just another marketplace for their services to be seen.

A nice way to just assume things I guess though if you arn't able to successfully sell on their yourself ;P

LOL, please shutup Jordan, you're not a graphic designer and don't understand the industry like I do and how these sites devalue designers. >.> That really annoys me because I know how sites like 99 designs take advantage of designers and businesses. Fiverr isn't much better in the long run.

I create brand identities for companies and there is no way I would insult my skills, or potential online clients by selling shoddy work that has no background research for a quick buck. I have worked with some international companies on successful marketing campaigns, so please do not assume that someone who has been in the industry as long as I have would want to attempt to sell her work on there. Good lord, kid.

Whoa whoa, calm down now...

you're not a graphic designer and don't understand the industry like I do.
You don't have to be a graphics designer to understand the industry. In fact, I find you to be extremely arrogant to believe so.

It does no such thing. Especially for designers just starting out. It gives them an option for someone to make up a portfolio when they otherwise have none. Designers don't have to sign up there. They don't have to offer their services there. But some do. If you don't like it, or feel you can't compete with the others, don't sign up. Simple as that. There has actually even been some big corporate companies that have used sites like 99designs, and the winner was given a lot of opportunities afterwords

Fiverr isn't much better in the long run.
Again, just assuming things. There are some really talented people on fiverr. Some that actually make a living, bought homes, etc for selling on their. But hey, everyone in your opinion who sells are fiverr, arnt good, or makes crap stuff 😛

I'm not the one assuming. You are. As there people on there who have been doing graphic design for 20+ years.

Didn't say you did, but you have been very arrogant ever since you got your yellow name. Your yellow name does not make you special. Your reply to me was very bitchy, so I have every right to be pissed off with the way that you decide to respond to people.

You're not special just because of your position. Anyway, this is all off topic. I expressed an opinion on sites that take advantage of young designers (I stand by that opinion because those do NOT help you build a portfolio despite what you might think) and you decided to insult me by saying that I could never get my work on there. Not looking for a debate on it. I don't know you, and you don't know me, so lets let that be an end to it.
