Is the iPad 1 still a good Apple iOS tablet?

Yes, I think the iPad 1 is still good for basic tasks like web browsing, playing older iOS games, eBook reading, and watching video as long as you don't need a webcam for apps like Instagram, Skype, etc since the iPad 1 does not have a webcam, or front camera.

But, for more intensive tasks like gaming on the iPad the iPad 2, New iPad/iPad 3, or newer iPhone or iPod Touch is a better choice.

I've not been limited with my iPad 1 in anyway shape or form, runs like it's brand new 🙂

Of course it is, though I wouldn't reccommend it. It doesn't support iOS 6. Though.

Of course it is.. Why not??? But there are a couple of things that you cannot do that you can do better with latest versions. But overall its still good for the basics.
