There was an argument about this between a colleague and our boss. My colleague was trying to persuade our boss to shift allegiance from PC to Mac. The main reason is the prevalence of virus in PC. Is the Mac really invulnerable to virus? And if it is, what do you think is the reason? My idea is maybe the OS of the Mac is designed in a way to be safe from intruder. Just my opinion.
The idea that you don’t have to worry about viruses or malware if you have a Mac is still surprisingly popular. Many people believe that Macs can’t get viruses, and Apple does little to dispel that notion, but is it really true? Can Macs get viruses?
“The answer is definitely, yes,” says a man named Bogdan Botezatu, Bitdefender’s Senior E-Threat Analyst, “There have been incidents, and there will be more.”
If macs become more popular and more prevalent in use then they too will see an uptick in viruses and one of the things they will use is people's belief that they can't get infected against them because it makes them easier targets. No matter what kind of computer you use, it's always best to take every available precaution against any and all threats that might come to your computer.
