Several financial gurus are convinced of it and they also predicted the 2008 crash. Well, I believe it, and that's why I think Trump's promise to Make America Great Again is sort of unreal. Also, ironically, Trump's buddy Robert Kiyosaki (He co-authored a book with him.) is one of those people predicting a crash - and he still believes it. 😉

Anyway, though this is for another thread, I'd the world is heading for really bad stuff now (take your pick) - any of which would be catastrophic.

Ron Paul predicted the 08 crash and predict a currency-ending crash to possibly happen around 2018. The US as Ron Paul mention has twice if I recall in our history had a bond currency completely crash and needed a new one to replace the old. This was also predicted by Time Magazine over a decade ago that I remember of that was titled, "Prepare for a new global currency in 2018".

Didn't matter who won the election the current sitting President (me). Will be creating the new form of bond currency for the US. That will replace what we currently have after the crash. The crash which will come is unavoidable, but that is why bringing back infrastructure, business, etc will "soften" the blow. It is a hard thing to stop at this point due to the overwhelming debt of currently $20 trillion. The passed 3 administrations has honestly screwed the US financially. So a blank slate is what will happen, but the thing to note is this isn't a crash just for the US this will be a global crash. Hence why many oil industries have already started denying and refuse to accept the US dollar already the US dollar is no longer seen as a global ruling currency by the oil industry or other nations the dollar right now is just hanging on until its last breathe.

This is indeed very scary and coming at a very appropriate time.

I wouldn't say a economic crash would be the scariest thing, honestly. A economy can be fixed after a crash over time, but what can't be is lives being lost in the case of war. With such a large economic crash many nations including larger ones like China, Russia will start becoming war hungry and take advantage of the situation to expand their own borders. With every nation suffering financially the only real option to boost a new economy is war, at least the fastest way to boosting a new economy.

I could see China and Russia competing over many middle-eastern nations. Which could possible jump start a complete World War over in the middle-east. It would easily be a war no one would honestly win, China would be the mostly devastated nation they have nukes, sure, but all they have is military numbers. Nuke-wise they only have nearly 300 nukes. The US and Russia are the only two nations with over 2,000 nuclear missiles.

I could honestly see complete overthrow of the China's current government communist control during a economic crash, between war as well as the fact China has dealt with many uprising in civil unrest this would be the dealing blow against their government which a crash does happen.

As for Europe and the EU I honestly don't expect much. If anything I expect the EU to be at war with itself. Many European nations are becoming fed up with the EU, between what could happen in the upcoming Germany election and such anything is possible.

You contradict yourself.

Not sure how I did. I just explained how economic crash would just lead to other nations going to war most likely. The crash in itself is not the scariest part it is how people handle it after the fact. Which I just see China and Russia taking advantage of it.

Economic crashes even without war are horrible and of course, this would be worse or equal to 1929.

Sure they are still bad I am not saying they are not, but people can survive a economic crash. People can't survive a nuclear missile dropping in the middle of their home town if China or Russia decided to be stupid.

I wish this wasn't the case, but I don't know how anyone will get out of this.

Definitely, this is new stuff. We don't really have an example of history to guide us.

Well as harsh as this may sound, but people have been warned of a economic crash for about a decade now. There are two different type of individuals the prepared and the unprepared.

Those who are prepared would most likely have for the passed 5-10 years would have spent extra money on stocking up on medication, food, etc. I personally know a few who have done just this. It would also be good to educate yourself on your surroundings also having good friends and people you can trust. A economic crash would not last forever. So the more educated you are and the better people you spend your time with during a economic crash will make it certainly easier to get through one until things get better.

I have a feeling, though, that even rural areas won't have anywhere to hide (survive). I mean Gilligan's Island can still be hit by typhoons and fallout will be everywhere. A nuke might even go into a rural area.
