Is YouTube becoming too Pro, losing visitors to Vine?

I sometimes feel newer YouTube videos are trying too hard to be Professional/Corporate like TV rather than short action packed videos under 5 minutes like the past, so I can see some visitors going on other video sites like Vine, Instagram, Keek, Vidly, Break.com, Liveleak, etc for shorter videos which are action packes, and doesn't take up too much time to watch.

Not really. Most videos I watch on a regular basis there are about the same as they'd always been.

But Youtube is screwing up their site too much with things like layout changes, over monetisation and that godawful content id system. Those are probably losing it far more activity than so called 'over professionalism' ever could.

Over-pro, I don't see very often.
The annoying thing is the ads.

When they make the ads last more than 5 seconds, I mute my laptop and go do something else, or just check out a forum.
When the ads are skippable, I skip them, so it makes that ad pointless.

So for me personally, all the ads there are pointless. The ONLY stuff I'll actually listen to is movie/game trailers and perhaps excerpts from another YouTuber...but most of it is crap.

Youtube still rocks I use it to listen to music and to find specific videos. I only use vine when I am bored and I want to watch something funny 😎

I agree YouTube is a great site to listen to music and find specific videos. YouTube is like an online video based encyclopedia where people can find videos on most topics.

I mostly use Vine to watch funny videos as well.

I kind of feel Vine may be the site to go to for funny videos, random videos and cat and dog videos since there are not as many unrelated videos with misleading titles, and descriptions, and Vine seem more like a site where you share videos with strangers instead of YouTube which seem more like a site where you share videos with friends, family, and online friends since YouTube now is more like Google Plus which is a social network.
