Yeah it actually is, militarily and economically. Not for long though. It's taking a quick road downhill. If you look at the history of the Roman empire and the various ways it collapsed, American is heading down that same path in many respects.

Who cares. One country may be more powerful in one aspect (such as producing oil or other goods that the world needs) and another country may be more powerful in another aspect (such as having a strong military).

As far as consumer technology America is behind Japan and/or China. I believe America is #1 in Military technology though.
