As far as consumer technology America is behind Japan and/or China. I believe America is #1 in Military technology though.

Ither way around. China can have a large army ready to invade any country in a matter of days. China is still behind us in technology, because they are using coal, but I don't really know a lot about consumer technology. Japan is a little ahead of us in that part.
