I built my comp from scratch about over 3 years ago
dual core AMD.
2GB ram.
1.5TB HHD
512mb Nvidia Graphics
win 7 32bit.

Today it died. just as well it died now and not earlier as my 21st Birthday is next week. so I will hopefully be getting money for it.
I have already decided what I am get.
Quad core AMD3+ 3GHZ
4GB DDR3 1333MHZ ram
Asus motherboard with 8 channels Audio
1PCI slot (good for my internet radio)
2PCIe x1
1PCIe x16
8 Sata 3GB/s
ATI HD 1GB graphics.
and so on 😀

I'd say instead of AMD and ATI, go for i7 Quad Core and the latest Nvidea GeForce.

Well, AMD is cheaper. Got a nice 8 thread from them for $200 for my company's server.

I was with Intel before AMD. Intel just cased me problems.


the graphics card is Integrated ATI Radeon™ HD 3000 GPU

And the good thing if I get a phenom I can unlock cores.
so if i get a dual core, it will be unlock to a quad core
If i get a quad core it will be unlocked to 6 cores.

that's the good think about the motherboard/CPU i am getting

Well I am not fixing it. The motherboard died on my old one.

So Instead of trying to fix it, I am just going to rebuild a brand new one.
I don't need to get much. and it is my Birthday next week so most of my B'day money will be spent on building it.

But in time I will add more stuff to it 🙂
