It's been almost 4 weeks.

We have 8 members, 5 of them are registered because of post exchanges. The current statistics of the forum are:

Total Forum Posts: 182
Total Members: 8

We can get anywhere from 0-12 guests everyday. Almost all of them come and leave.

I'm sharing on a bunch of promotion forums, twitter, facebook, telling my friends, working hard to ramp up the post count myself, adding new features (chatroom, new themes), etc.

Is this normal activity for a new forum?

Another question. This early on, should I appoint some staff members? Right now I'm the only staff member. There isn't anything to edit or whatever at this point, but another dedicated staff member that could increase the post count and keep things rolling would be a good idea, right?

Actually, its not normal. You should do some more post exchanges and advertising topics and hope that some people will want to be active. What does your forum offer that competition forums like this don't offer?
