Well everyone who has join xfcommunities. I noticed people reply like, "Oh yah, its awesome!" but they honestly don't mean it? Reason why I think this is because of the activity. It was going great and first and now it's plain dead. I merged a database, done plenty of updates, etc.
But nothing is really helping it? We have a custom theme and everything is very unique. I am just getting ready to close it down. Don't say it is giving up. I don't ever give up on my communities I make. I just toss them into a folder on my desktop incase I want to bring them back in the future. But I hate it when people act likes it great and pretty much lie behind my back and do the opposite of what they say when they join.
I don't have a problem making a simple community under anything like gaming, tech, webmasters, administrators, etc. I can always make them different from any other community. Its just when people join and say it's great and are like, "I will always be here." then leave the next day it just really makes me feel no one likes it. Why continue something if no one likes the hard work and money you put into 1 site?
I have not received an email, i visit the forum everyday give or take. xfcommunities is only a couple of weeks old, give it time as Rome was not built in a day. 🙂

Might be your interaction on the forum. Perhaps You dont engage people in conversation enough. If the owner doesnt want to chat, why should the members?
I see gaming forums all the time that look great. I'm not a gamer myself so I don't join or become active on them, but that doesn't mean I don't mean it when I compliment them.
Your post suggests that you blame other people when your forum is not successful. That kind of thinking will not get you anywhere. Look to yourself and ask "what can I do better for the benefit of my members?"
I to had your feeling sometime in IY's early release. You got to give it more time. You maybe had or have to high expectations of your project like I in the beginning of mine.
Its a great idea and can become alot it just needs time to grow and to make members come back or new people join up.
Its that feeling you do everything or just alot to get your project active, expanding but you don't seem to see results.
It doesn't mean there are no results right away as you want them, those results will never be.
Well, actually, a lot of Forum admins gets this state (almost all). You should find a way to overcome it.
I know users will say its "awesome" but don't care about it anymore. But i don't think they can be blamed for it, because its not their responsibility to keep up posting. You should find a way to make them post, perhaps through a contest or something.
As far as i see, a forum over 30k+ posts can only rely on users to post without much participation from admins. For any new forum, we have to post a lot to keep up the discussions.
If i start a thread like "what's your favorite forum software" and if someone replies as "mybb is my favorite", i won't leave it as such. Just ask them something like "may i know why you like MyBB?". That will make others too to post in it, as they find something interesting to speak about.
I'm not a successful forum admin, as my forum is still in its primitive stage. But from what i observed, its the key to success.
And if you have done post exchange or something, they will obviously give good compliments about your site. And even the normal users, almost 60% will always give good compliments about your forum, as they are new to your forum, and don't want to be bad to admin.
Just request a Full forum review in FP, or other promotional forums, and find where you lag. Try to correct that. Your forum will surely become success.
After all, if even forumotion forums can succeed, why can't a forum powered by Xenforo with a custom skin? (not trying to offend any forumotion users here).
