Jailbreak Ipod Touch?

I'm having troubles trying to Jailbreak my Ipod Touch. It's 8g (2nd Generation), IOS4, and is an MC model. I think the firmware is the latest version. Anyone know how I could do it?

I used spirit, as it is untethered and its working absolutely fine.

I got it by using jailbreakme.net. I had to downgrade my software, though.

I know this is off-topic but I have a question. What do you get from jailbreaking these? Free apps and what not?

I believe you can't jailbreak version 4.2, not sure... what version is your software on your iPod?
