Have any of you jailbroken your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad?

Just to clear up it's perfectly legal. I just jailbroke my iPod Touch today.

Yep, I jailbroke my iPhone 3G when I had one. Now I have a HTC Tattoo with a rooted (linux-speak for jailbreaking/root access) ROM on it.

No didn't when I had my iPhone, saw no need to. Wouldn't have made the phone any better in my eyes than what it was/is (This is not a flame invitation 😛 ).

So does anyone of you have any problems once jailbreaking? And what version is for iPhone.

I have an iPhone 3GS. I do not plan on jailbreaking. I believe iOS 4 will account for most of the features I want.

Yeah buddy! Jailbroke mine not that long ago and boy does it look sexy now

Uhmm jailbreaking is illegal...

As it breaks the eula.

If this sounds like FUD, that's because it is. One need only transpose Apple's arguments to the world of automobiles to recognize their absurdity. Sure, GM might tell us that, for our own safety, all servicing should be done by an authorized GM dealer using only genuine GM parts. Toyota might say that swapping your engine could reduce the reliability of your car. And Mazda could say that those who throw a supercharger on their Miatas frequently exceed the legal speed limit.

But we'd never accept this corporate paternalism as a justification for welding every car hood shut and imposing legal liability on car buffs tinkering in their garages. After all, the culture of tinkering (or hacking, if you prefer) is an important part of our innovation economy.

Of course, many iPhone owners will be happy to choose solely from the applications that Apple is willing to approve, just like many Ford owners are happy relying exclusively on their local Ford dealer. But if you want to pop the hood, the DMCA surely shouldn't stand in your way.

And that's all I have to say 'bout that. 😉

I jailbroke my first iphone but haven't done it to my 3GS. Doubt I will when I get my iPhone 4 either.

Jailbreaking is not illegal. You gave Apple $xxx and they gave you an iPod. It is officially yours and you can do whatever you want with it.

Apple makes good stuff, they would *possibly* develop better things than Microsoft if they opened up their code a little. Meh, I am fine with jailbreaking. You are just opening a phone you bought. That's what it seems to me. Even though I never will own an iphone or whatever.
