Description: I've been working on the jaxboards forum software for going on 3 years now, and I just opened up to the public a couple of months ago. I'm looking to gain some ground against other forum hosts, because I know my software is pretty freaking cool.

In a nut shell, you never have to use your refresh button. Ever. If you're in a topic and someone posts, it'll show up on your screen. If someone PMs you, you'll get a notification. But why use the PM system when there's an instant messaging system? Yeah, instant messaging built in. Chit chat with people on the board without having to wait 5 minutes between responses.

If you're looking for a free forum host that can kick-start your community, give us a try! The software is still being developed, and any feedback you give will be used to make it even better. Your pleas won't fall on deaf ears!

We've also got full skin customization. Don't know javascript? Not a problem, you can edit any part of the HTML with relative ease. I've got a few people writing templates that will mimic other board software, so that skins from other board software will work with jaxboards.

That's what the meta system is for! Every bit of HTML on every page can be altered and customized to whatever you want it to be.

Don't like how something looks? Change it, you have that privilege. On other forum hosts, you have to know some pretty hardcore javascript to move stuff around, not with us.

Edit- after making a test forum i have to say it needs work. You have done well but it still needs work. Mainly with the ACP. There isnt anywhere where i can edit the favicon, the way users sign up and alot more stuff needs to be changed.

Also the quick reply. Even if you have changed the name of the forum the quick reply still says:

Welcome, To Jaxboards

Alot of work needed in future features but its okay 🙂

I like it, but like people have said, needs some more features.

Look at other softwares ACP's, like phpBB's, then go from there.

Yeah, of course it needs work. I don't have 10 million settings, I mentioned earlier that mostly only the basics are there. 😛

If there's anything that you actually use that you don't see in the ACP, just let me know! That'll get boosted up on the priority list.

In my own experience though, something close to 90% of the settings in IPB/PHPBB never even get messed with. I'm trying to keep the clutter down, and keep everything nice and simple.

If you see something absolutely crucial missing, just give me a heads up. Afiak, everything else is just fluff

thanks, futuristic. I'm hoping some more people show jaxboards the lovin it deserves.

I believe it has the potential to compete with the big dogs out there if I could just get a good base going, which is proving to be quite difficult as I suck at marketing

Not bad reminds me of a watered down version Advanced Electron Forums http://www.anelectron.com/ ....keep working on it I think you have something just needs a touch here and there.................
