What do you guys think of Jcink's forum hosting. I've been pretty impressed by them from first impressions.

In my opinion, and others most likely, it is one of the worst free forum hosts out there.

You could not be more wrong. Like I know for a fact you could not be more wrong.

what about freeforum.com? forumotion? topixcube? Give proof of this

I'm not going to waste my time searching, but you can search google, this forum, and other places, and people always say it is terrible.

So what do you people think is the best free forum host if jcink is the worst?

From my understanding, they offer free backups. That right there makes them worth using as compared to other free forum hosts.

Yes, this has really attracted me to them. I want to start a free forum which will be reliable so I could build a good member base then move to a paid host and software but everywhere else doesn't offer free download of databases.

ProphpBB does. 🙂

Nope, pretty much the best I've used because it is free IPB basically. Some of my members even accused me of using an illegal copy of IPB....that alone is enough proof that this free IPB software is great.

You say what you want, but free hosts are never this good

May I ask, if I was to build a forum on Jcink and eventually wanted to moved to a hosted IPB board would it be as simple as buying the hosting, the IPB License and then importing the database from the Jcink forum?

One of their staff members says:
Although jcink runs IPB 1.3, their version is highly modified and so I'm not sure if you would be able to convert it. Best to contact our conversions team at [email protected] for details.

Ok thanks for that. Does ProphpBB easily convert?

If you are going to use phpbb, you should just download the software and set up on a free web host (if you dont want to spend any money).
