The first time I knew who Joan Crawford was, it was because of the book/movie Mommie Dearest. That gave her a bad rap, and years later, her daughter Christina admitted to making some of it up.
I've seen some of Joan's movies since then, but most were her later ones and she was awful. Yesterday I saw a silent movie and she was incredible!! I couldn't believe it was her.
