It was always a toss up when it comes to the leadership of the Beatles – divided between John Lennon and Paul McCartney. But in the end, John Lennon was admittedly the most popular among the 4. And when the Beatles disbanded, it was John Lennon who came up with hit songs ahead of his rival. It’s just sad that Lennon would be killed by Mark Chapman, a self-confessed die-hard fan of his idol.
I'd have to disagree here big time. McCartney with Wings and solo produced - as much, maybe more. Also, the quality was just as good, but his stuff wasn't that political or philosophical - hence the tune, Silly Love Songs.
