lol I had that issue too.
Now you'll get a mail from their Vice President giving you a discount 😛 this will delay your transfer by 3 days further

Who in this world will pay 38$ for 1 year domain renewal when they can get approx 4 years with same amount.

Did you not check that when you registered the domain? This is why I don't ever use them...

Everyone plans on getting started and if it works just continue or else transfer later.
The problem is that they don't let you transfer easily.
They want us to call them up for transfer saying there is fraudulent activity on account. 😛

Transfer it to another registrar, they usually offer good deals for that.
 
You should transfer after 3-month register, also when pick a domain name from this registrar, let's untick a RENEW option.

I think the better one is namesilo.com which a domain price for multiple years will be cheaper more than NameCheap.

I'd rather stick with NameCheap or someone well known.
