I made my forum one month ago currently i have 2000 Messages and 120 Members In last 2 days the posts have died down only the staff and 2 posts from members
any ideas on how to keep users from posting(im also updating the content daily)
Forum URL: http://forumaddict.co.cc (Old address http://dsirage.com)
Thanks,
keeping members is often the hardest part of running a website, things like competition and fresh new ideas will help keep some, but simply u gotta keep it interesting for the users
For starters, I would get a TLD straight away. Did you notice the decrease when you moved to the .co.cc domain? Also, send a newsletter out to your members, let them know the forum is still alive and kicking, and maybe even give them an incentive to be active once more (such as a competition)
Also, just a nitpick, but the way you type is very unprofessional. Just looking at your English, I probably would turn away before I even took a look at your forum. That might also be another reason members left and never came back.
Yes thats why i changed the name its called Trial and error
i have two Options
A Keep Trying
B Start Again
(the current forum has been up for one year)

I would say keep trying. Don't give up and continue striving for your goals.
With communities they come and go - keeping with the trends of the members and know what they might want to keep coming back is part of being the admin of the community.
Look around and try and get ideas that might work for your forum.
What usually helps for me when thinking of ideas and so forth is listening to some calm ambient music - relax and let the ideas flow through your head 😀.
This is the problem. You try so many new things before the old thing has settled up.
You must concentrate only on 1 forum at a time. You can consider starting a new one, only when your old one has grown enough to develop on its own (probably with a good team to manage it).
Also, you must not change genre of a forum. People joined your forum due to DSi Rage related discussions. And when you convert it to a general forum, why would they stay, if they don't have a forum which they like?
Also, when switching to a new TLD, make sure, it spells the same.
Example; From Google.co.cc to Google.com is good. But not if Google.com is changed to Yahoo.co.cc.
I hope you understand what i'm pointing to.
Hi 🙂 I'm going to give this a shot at trying to help you out here. Your forum's an advertising forum and that may be part of the problem. People typically want large, well-trafficked places to advertise, naturally, and yours, as a new forum, is small. Small forums are generally best for hangouts. Is there a way you could incorporate something where your buddies could hang out at the forum and just enjoy it, and slowly build it from there? Advertising forums are also a very saturated market so you have a lot of competition.
Have unique content that will keep them at your forum.. Then mabey do a contest thats what i'm planning to do soon. Some of my friends said it helped get there forum off and members more active.
You should definitely try to get your members back before you do anything. Send a mass email or something. If nobody comes back, try to get more members. If that fails, start over.
