I just don't get it. Kids just love the feeling of being high.

I just read a topic where a kid was so addicted to being high that he was looking for household products to smoke! It is really sad that somebody has neglected that kid so much that he has NOTHING better to do then do drugs.

The kid was 14 and said he drank some vodka and smoked a cig. Then started huffing paint and stuff.

-.- Excuse my language but "WHAT THE F**K?"

What has happened?

It depends on how they were brought up, among other factors. Some kids do it to fit in, others who think it's cool.

I am not anti-drugs at all, but i think it's sad when kids or young teens use them, they don't know anything about the drug or the effects and they are not using them for the right reasons.

I take some drugs, but never did it when i was a kid i only started in my late teens.

I totally agree with you.

I am not against drugs but I am against young kids/teens doing them. Half of them do not understand what the drugs do other then get them high.

Teens these days are also starting to do pills ( such as Ecstasy ). It really is destroying the parents when they find out that they have let their kids do this stuff.

I don't get it either, it's ridiculous. They have their whole lives to make whatever choices they want, but why start doing something so stupid so young?

I'm 14 and have never gotten high off of anything, and have never even been near drugs.

Yeah I agree with you, some of the things kids do are crazy. I've never done any drugs except smoking weed and that's not something I do regularly. I guess you could say I started young since I tried it when I was 13 but eh I knew most of its effects at that time.

These are all true.

I think the worst is when kids do inhalants. They do not realize that - that completely destroys your body. It kills brain cells and damages vital organs.

It is just really sad to think that I might have to fight with my son/daughter ( When I have one ) about drugs.

Good job buddy. I encourage you to stay away from them.

Im 21 and I can honestly say I have never touched drugs other than headache pills and ones prescribed by my GP. I have never smoked and have no intention of starting.

Oh and 14yr olds DO know what these drugs can do they start having lessons and talks about it as soon as they enter secondary school.

I personally cannot understand how someone can start to do something that is so damaging to their health when it is so widely known how harmfull it is!

I have used drugs since I was 13. I'm 15 now.

Sober for a month and not going back, thats all I have to say really. Drugs are OK for some, but other people don't have the self control or the right type of mindset to use them safely. I can testify.

I'll be honest, i smoke a fair bit of weed, I've been smoking everyday for 2 months straight, but have stopped for a little while now, and then i will go back to it, i really enjoy smoking, it's a great mindset, but you really have to control yourself with it, I haven't got any backlash from not smoking for a few weeks.

I take drugs everyday. LEGAL ONES THOUGH WHICH STOP MY HAYFEVER.

There's quite a few people in my class who smoke weed and all that other rubbish.

In the United States in particular, the education we receive about drugs (and health topics in general) is so superficial that they may as well just say, "Drugs are bad! Don't do them!" Actually, they pretty much do just say that.

I can't stand to see 12 & 13 year olds doing drugs. I started smoking marijuana at the age of 12 because I wanted to fit in with my friends. After that I started smoking it to relieve my stress because I've always had a stressful life. I still smoke weed but I only smoke the best of the best and not as much as earlier in my life.

I'm straightedge (google it, don't want to spend an hour explaining it) and can honestly say drug prevention programs (specifically DARE) did absolutely nothing to prevent me from using drugs, and I feel are a waste of money.

kudus to you for that, not for me but it works for some.

And yeah drug prevention programs might have had the opposite effect they were supposed to on me as a younger teen lol.

Wow, I am shocked at how many have done drugs in this topic. I am 15 and have never smoked anything and never will. You shouldn't have to do stuff like that to fit in. 🙁

That is unusual, but it is the fact that nobody in the world ever listens to what thier parents or teachers or whoever else has to say. They need to start being less brief with kids, although in this case this 14 year old would need a pretty good reason for getting so addicted to drugs.

It's sad what drugs can do.

Honestly I can name less than 10 of my friends that have never done/don't do any drugs. The honest truth is that most of the time you have to do drugs to fit in. Whatever, I'm not the norm.

Yeah like my parents or teachers were the ones that made me not do drugs. That's quite comical.

I never smoked weed or drank to fit in, in fact only stoners knew I smoked for the most part lol.

It's not worth it.
But who the hell cares? Only one person can choose to make you drug free, and that is yourself. People can tell you stories "Ah you can kill yourself, blah blah blah," but in the end it is only up to you if you want to use drugs or not.
