A WOMAN flung a pet kitten into a computer and then kicked it so hard it almost died in a drunken rage following a domestic dispute, a court heard.

Kerry Devine, 28, of Harold Street, Grimsby, appeared at Grimsby Magistrates' Court yesterday, and admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal.

As reported, the eight-week-old kitten – who has been named Smokey – was rushed to the Blue Cross Animal Hospital for treatment after suffering the worst injuries ever seen by a veterinary nurse.

It was thought the kitten – who belonged to one of Devine's four children – had sustained brain damage.
