There is no bot that gets around reCaptcha, that is why the major softwares are starting to use it, or at least create MODs for it. 😉

Unless a human signs up and gives the account to a bot.

@Fowler, I hate xRummer with a passion. That software just makes it too easy for spammers to post on lots of forums.

@John1 you say "There is no bot that gets around reCaptcha", I use it on my business forum and we still get loads of spam. Perhaps all the spam we get is from human registrations. If we get that much from humans I'd hate to think what we'd get if bots got through. In my experience, business forums have a particular tendency to attract spam.

There is no current bot that gets around reCaptcha. Sure it's only a matter of time but hopefully somehing much stronger will be out by then.

It is possible the human registers and gives the information to a bot (or several bots), which would leave the forum open to that bot or bots.

In phpBB 3.0.6 you can delete all the PM's in a users outbox so if you do get a spammer like this you can delete all the PM's they sent that have not been read.

I also got a PM from this person/bot. I got some time ago Malware defense don't know if it has anything to do with it.
