Out of the four, which one is the best? What are the differences between them?

They're basically the same. LAMP is for linux, MAMP is for mac, and both XAMPP and WAMP are two competing windows products.

In a production enviornment (i.e. a server running your live site), Linux is probably the best choice, as it's essentially the standard for production web servers.

Used XAMPP for the longest but after I switched to WAMP everything was better.

I've always used WAMP for windows. I'm not sure how the two differ, but WAMP definitely provides everything you need. Just make sure to get the English language version, not French. I made that mistake once. 😛

Literally what I was about to say. For testing out software using WAMP, XAMPP, or MAMP is good since it's all local and you know what will work, how it will, etc. without running the risk of having issues on the main site/server. Otherwise for actual hosting and serving out content LAMP would be your best bet hands down.
