Laptop + TV w/"S-Video VGA" Out Cable
So my laptop has an S-Video out connection, anyone know if I could theoritcally plug my laptop to my tv and play age of empires on my laptop but have it show up both on my monitor and my tv?
Re: Laptop + TV w/S-Video Out Cable
Games aren't made for dual screening, however if you're just replicating the laptop view to the tv, then yes, it should work if you have the right cables/connections.
Quality can't be guaranteed though.
Re: Laptop + TV w/S-Video Out Cable
Thanks Wrighty!
Any suggestions for a top quality s video cable?
Or should I just pick up anyone I find and use that? 😎
Re: Laptop + TV w/S-Video Out Cable
SVideo isn't the best way to connect a laptop to a TV - check if your TV has a VGA Connection - your laptop most probably will. 🙂
Re: Laptop + TV w/S-Video Out Cable
Ok, I checked, I have both a VGA and an HDMI outputs, so I will have to buy a vga cable then?
Are vga cables universal or are there a variety?
(I'll edit my topic title)
If your TV has a HDMI input & your laptop an HDMI out - go with that! 😛
But yes, VGA cables are universal! 🙂
Nice, thats all I need to know for now, thanks a ton Wrighty! 😎
I simply use a GeForce Dual VGA Card and use a VGA cable to use my LCD TV as a second monitor.
