So, I figured I'd start a trend of making these simple discussion topics. What is the largest forum that you have personally owned or managed? How many posts did the forum have? How many members? Is the forum still around today? Link us whenever possible. If it's not online anymore, feel free to link us to it on the Wayback Machine.

Let's discuss.

RX Community was my largest, nevermind my first ever. Before it snuffed it years ago, it had around 47k posts and 493 members. You can say that I did well, yeah.

Mine was OTz, 30k members in it's prime with 2.2 million posts.
Sold it a couple years ago. New owner merged it with a politics forum to make it seem their politic forum was big. Unfortunately, that made all of the loyal members leave. xD

In terms of moderating, definitely Forum Promotion. The largest forum that I owned had around 10,000-15,000 posts I believe and that ended up being sold and merged with another forum. Unfortunately, it seems the owner just likes buying forums, merging them and giving up.

As the title says! Aren't big what you guys mention and to the point I feel ashamed lol Aren't big but better then nothing. Yet again I don't own many forums. All you need to know is in my sig... 😛

Sounds like you did well. Was it on a free forum host?

I was shocked when you sold that forum. I remember you got a really good deal when you bought it. It's too bad the new owner ruined it.

What was that forum called?

Have you owned any other forums other than BaysideGamers?

Yes it was, on good ol' ZetaBoards back when it was just new 😉

That's interesting. It's good you're on Jcink now.

Yea, Got an offer for 1,000% more than what I paid for it, and I unfortunately wasn't doing much with it so, I parted ways with it.

Did you initially buy it on Flippa?

No,
Digital Point.

I check there once in a while still, most the sites are worthless, but once in a blue moon you find a rare gem

Wow, I'm jealous. I look at Digital Point every month or two. I've never seen anything worthwhile on there. It's usually just starter sites and the typical blogs with automated news posts. I know FP was sold on there back in the day.

Indeed I have but they are no longer running (free based). I still have one other domain but I just having got around of making an forum based

What free forum hosts have you used?

The only one I've owned, though there have been a few forums I got modded on. It's in the sig.

Mine was a forum called GenChat123. It’s not around today due to a problem with a host back in the day. I lost the site unfortunately but it had around 40,000 posts (I think).

I ran a mental illness forum in 00's which had 1000+ members and plenty of threads / replies. Was pretty much self sufficient.

I had a poor turn of health and didn't have the time to dedicate to it any longer and it ended up closing down. Massive shame and I really regret that.
