Completed LazyForums VS Open Carnage

Open Carnage seems to have a purpose and is doing well, Lazy Forums is seemingly yet another uninspiring general discussion forum, zzzzzzz. Seriously, these forums open by the day and all of them fail. Great design, though!

OC wins.

With your logic no one should ever try things because most things have already been done.
Luckily businessmen don't have your mindset otherwise we wouldn't have a lot of things.

Are you comparing yourself to a business man?
The idea is that you take something and improve on it based on current trends. Your general discussion forum is the same as all the others.
Why would someone join a general discussion forum with people they've never spoken to before? There are no connections. Not to mention there are way better platforms than a forum for this, social media dominates general discussion because you connect with way more people in a much more user friendly way. You have to offer something that existing forums do not, as well as things social media can not.
There is absolutely zero motivation for me to join your forum and tell a bunch of strangers the last thing I ate.

Fair enough. Thank you for your opinion

I prefer participating in general discussion forums over connecting with people on social media. On social media, you tend to meet people who are very close to you geographically. On forums, however, you meet a lot of people that you may never have met otherwise. It is also nice that you have more anonymity on forums. People only know what you allow them to know for the most part.
