Want to learn about Bipolar Disorder? Ask me, and I'll be sure to reveal what I know. If I don't know something I will direct you to an appropriate source that can help you, but I'll always be sure to give you the knowledge that I have.

So ask away and you'll be surpised what you might learn about this diagnosis...

Andy...

I know all about it. Several people in my family have it. My mom had it and my brother has it. For some reason it passed over me.

It can do that. It's not unheard of. Sometimes it can skip a generation and then the grandkids get it.

That's cool. Glad you did, because I never did learn about mental disorders in health class when I was in high school.

I've sometimes wondered if my daughter suffers from it, she's either very hyper and in a silly mood or very moody and snappy, it's rare to see her acting just average. She is a very deep thinker and can hold on to bad memories for ever. Sometimes she will have panic attacks when she is having a dark day. She won't go to her GP to discuss it either?

The best people to diagnose bipolar disorder are a psychiatrist or NPP (nurse practitioner - psychiactric)

You should be able to get a referal from your GP.
